9to5 Seating products have once again received BIFMA LEVEL® 1 Certification, with HÅG Capisco and HÅG Capisco Puls earning LEVEL 2 Certification. The classification, granted by the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer’s Association (BIFMA) is an industry-wide recognition for sustainability.
Developed in accordance with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) procedures, “LEVEL” is awarded to office furniture products that meet the stringent, multi-attribute ANSI/BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard. This LEVEL certification from BIFMA is the preferred sustainability standard for the General Services Administration (GSA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the state of California. Additionally, LEVEL certified products are preferred for projects being considered for WELL or LEED building certifications.
The HÅG Capisco and HÅG Capisco Puls LEVEL 2 certification recognizes the products’ sustainable design. Originally, the product development team integrated sustainability early in the design phase which meant the chairs garnered more credits within the LEVEL certification process.
The design team prioritized assessing the environmental impact of the HÅG Capisco and HÅG Capisco Puls. Both products were reviewed in an objective report (Environmental Product Declaration) gauging their effect on the environment throughout their life-cycles. This assessment examined the recycled content, material efficiency, chemical make-up and greenhouse gas impact of the product. This in-depth analysis enabled 9to5 Seating to earn the LEVEL 2 classification for HÅG Capisco and HÅG Capisco Puls.
This latest BIFMA assessment once again confirms 9to5 Seating’s commitment to transparency and sustainability in manufacturing its products.
